MoradaYDU is in the
global WGBC library
of sustainable projects
IN NOV/2024, MORADA YDU BECOMES A REFERENCE IN SUSTAINABILITY BY THE
WORLD GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL'S CASE STUDIES LIBRARY
The path taken to this achievement was full of challenges that make the taste of this victory even greater!
1 year and 8 months was the time between the sentence on the side and the recognition below, highlighted today in MoradaYDU's publication in the World Green Building Council's (WGBC) global library of sustainable construction case studies.
20 months in which we found ourselves forced to prioritize personal commitments of a higher order in intensive and painful battles involving sequential health care, death and post-death of a family member, as well as burnout, dengue fever, among others. But also positive developments in the process of transferring our son Ulysses (the “U” in “YDU”) to another state, requiring extensive travel and indispensable mobilizations.
Demands that forced the MoradaYDU project to inevitably suspend some activities, including the process of submitting the project to the WGBC Study Cases Library. Already strengthened, in April 2024, we were able to resume the project, which would require a lot of focus to bring together assignments for the MoradaYDU project into 3 categories:
– Zero net operational energy
– Health, equality and resilience
– Resources and circularity
The MoradaYDU project is eligible to be featured in the World Green Building Council’s Case Study Library!
The WorldGBC Case Study Library showcases buildings that demonstrate improved performance in terms of health benefits and zero operational carbon, validated by existing certification tools."."

SITE WGBC, 07/11/2024
A long document was generated and submitted via the WGBC platform on 04/13/2024.
Three months passed without any news until Sam Robjohns, Climate Action Officer at WGBC, sent a thoughtful email apologizing for the delay and explaining that the entire team had been working hard on events, followed by vacations. He requested a summary and some numerical data, as the submitted text was too long for the publication format, and then concluded by saying, “it is so inspiring to see projects like yours paving the way to a truly sustainable built environment.”
Our confidence regained strength.
Another three months were consumed by new demands of our own, some unforeseen events, and it was only in October that it was possible to return to the text for the requested adjustments.
The summary was sent, and after 2 weeks we received from Carolina Montano Owen, PhD, Technical Lead, Sustainable Buildings at WGBC, “I actually read it yesterday and I was very impressed by the project! Congratulations!” and on 11/6/2024 again from Sam, “The final version has been approved. Congratulations, Yara!”
A mixture of joy, fulfillment, relief, compensation filled us completely.
But our story does not stop there, but rather, it begins.
This recognition gives us strength to overcome not only the hardships we have experienced, but mainly nourishes us to go further in new actions for sustainability with MoradaYDU!
